ACCWA State Rally History

WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATION OF CARAVAN CLUBS INC.

Changed 2021 to – ASSOCIATION OF CARAVAN CLUBS OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA

WA STATE RALLIES – Held approx. every 2 years.

Prior to the establishment of regular State rallies, 2 combined clubs picnics were held and 1 combined rally of CCWA & Fleetwood, then 1 Picnic the year after in 1975.

The first WAACCI State Rally was at Peninsular Caravan Park, Mandurah in October 1974, attended by 76 vans from 5 WA Clubs (CCWA 31; Bi-Tone 18; Fleetwood 9; Westsiders 9; and Villa Nova 9) with 2 marquees erected together.

  • The rally was held  at the Moora Recreational Oval over the weekend of September 26-29. Eighty  vans attended the rally and the weekend was enjoyed by all. Various events were held over the weekend including a photo competition, car racing and disc bowls. The attendees were entertained on the Saturday night by acts presented by fellow caravanners and on Sunday everyone enjoyed an evening of music and dance with the Mucky Duck Bush Band

  • The Bunbury rally was held at Payne Park in Bunbury and was attended by 87 vans from various clubs within the the association. The rally ran from Thursday to Monday.
  • ACCWA held one of its regular Delegates meetings on the Thursday which gave members the opportunity to attend a meeting and have the opportunity to talk with the Committee members and other delegates.
  • Over the weekend attendees had to opportunity to catch up with other club members and participate in fun activities such as Disc Bowls, Finska and Ladder golf.
  • Attendees also took the opportunity for self -drive tours and walking of Bunbury and surrounds as well some organized tours.
  • Entertainment was provided on several nights giving attendees the opportunity for some dancing and singing and enjoy some refreshments with fellow caravanners.
